Ostrom’s winning video drives a taxi.

Ostrom wanted advertising that people believe. They found it in a customer: Dieter, 70, charges his electric taxi with NeoGrid AI and earns money doing it.

What did ROCC Film shoot for Ostrom?

Berlin film production company ROCC Film shot five formats for Ostrom with Ostrom customer Dieter on 26 September 2025: a TV commercial, a testimonial, a walkthrough, an explainer film and performance ads. According to Ostrom, the video view campaign with Dieter and Rahel reached 101,035 views and a 20% higher click-through rate than Ostrom’s video ads without ROCC footage. For the separate conversion campaign with Dieter, Ostrom reports 131 visits to the tariff page and 17 tariff sign-ups (as of 27 April 2026).

“ROCC turned our complex NeoGrid AI product into an easy-to-follow story with a real person.”

The best part of NeoGrid AI is invisible.

Ostrom’s NeoGrid AI charges the car at grid-friendly times and credits the customer for it.

Ostrom wanted to show that, on linear TV and in its performance channels. With a person you believe.

Three decisions.

  • A real customer instead of an actor. Ostrom asked its customers online for happy users. Dieter answered: 70, retired, driving an electric taxi in Berlin for three years.
  • His home as the set. Living room, underground garage, wall box, neighbourhood. That is where people tell instead of recite.
  • More shot than ordered. The plan was a TV commercial and a testimonial. The footage held more: a walkthrough, an explainer film with Rahel from Ostrom and the performance ads.

Measured by Ostrom.

The figures above come from Ostrom, from two separately measured campaigns. Ostrom calls Dieter’s cut v3.3 its winning video.

Questions about the case

How did Ostrom find Dieter?

Through an online call to its own customers. ROCC Film prepared the interview guide and copy beforehand and built the shoot day around Dieter’s routine.

Why a real customer and not an actor?

Because people believe a customer who charges his own taxi. According to Ostrom, the ads with Dieter and Rahel ran with a 20% higher click-through rate than Ostrom’s video ads without ROCC footage.

What can come out of a single shoot day?

A TV commercial, a testimonial, a walkthrough, an explainer film, performance ads in 9:16 and 4:5 and subtitled cutdowns. It works when concept and shooting plan include every format from the start.

Where do the figures come from?

From Ostrom itself. They are Ostrom’s campaign figures as of 27 April 2026, approved for publication in May 2026.
