Brand films for BERNINA: the big days of real users

For the #ABIGDAY campaign we filmed people from the BERNINA community where they sew: Cella in the Netherlands, Simone in Zurich. In 2024 a product film for the BERNINA 3 Series from Berlin followed.

What did ROCC Film produce for BERNINA?

ROCC Film has been producing brand films for BERNINA since 2023, commissioned through the agency Foundry. For the #ABIGDAY campaign we created portraits of users in the Netherlands and Switzerland, as a landscape film and as a vertical version. In 2024 a product film for the BERNINA 3 Series followed in Berlin.

You see what a sewing machine can do in what people make with it.

For BERNINA, what counts is the moment a project is finished. The riding bag made of vegan leather that Cella's daughter holds for the first time. The blouse that fits Simone at the very first attempt. The #ABIGDAY campaign tells exactly these moments, through the people who live them.

That is why we filmed Cella and Simone where they sew: at home, at their own table, with their own projects. The machine is a tool here, not the lead. That is exactly what makes it believable.

In the product film for the BERNINA 3 Series we turned this around. Here the machine takes centre stage, calmly lit, with the features that make the difference when you sew.

What came of it

After the first shoots in 2023, BERNINA came back through Foundry in 2024 with further productions, including the product film in Berlin.

The films carry the brand's claim, made to create, and show it through people rather than spec sheets.
