Promotional Video for Commerzbank and Cultural Poster Campaign The rescue of a life's work. And what came after.

Two years after the COVID-19 rescue, the cultural poster campaign tells the whole story: how close the end was, how a consultant listened, and how the rescue turned into a new beginning. The sequel to the 2020 film, shot in 2022.

A Banking Relationship, Told as a Second Act

In 2020, Commerzbank helped Berlin’s cultural poster campaign weather the COVID-19 crisis by providing quick access to liquidity. This 2022 film shows what came of it: not a return to the way things were, but a fresh start with investments in storage, staff, vehicles, and media.

At the heart of the story is a sentence about the consultant, Patrick Herr: He listened and understood the concept—not to preserve the old, but to create something new. And so, a loan story becomes what bank advertising rarely achieves: proof of a partnership, told by the customer himself.

Why the second movie has a stronger impact than the first

The 2020 film was made in the midst of the crisis; this one was made two years later. That’s exactly what makes it valuable: Now we can tell not only the story of the rescue, but also the outcome. The company is still in business, investing and promoting Berlin’s cultural scene once again.

For Commerzbank, this is the most credible form of advertising: a customer who tells their own story, mentioning their advisor’s name and sharing a verifiable outcome.

“It was, in essence, the preservation of a life’s work. And Commerzbank did a great job of that.”

Seen in the film

The cultural poster campaign looks back on the pandemic: days when it seemed as though things could go no further, and the fear that 30 years of history would come to an end. Then came the turning point: a consultant who listened and understood the concept. Instead of preserving the old, something new is being created, with investments in storage, staff, vehicles, and media. The conclusion, in their own words: It was the salvation of a life’s work. And a wish for everyone fighting for Berlin’s cultural scene: a partner by your side whom you can rely on.
