Event Film for the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs The film decides what a conference leaves behind.
In September 2023, the symposium “Quality Work in SGB II Job Centers” brought together representatives from job centers across Germany in Berlin under the annual theme “Well-Positioned for Change.” The film captures what makes a day like this so valuable: real-world examples, discussions, and the energy with which the participants head back to their respective locations.
A symposium is only effective as long as people remember it
Through workshops and discussions, the BMAS provides job centers with a forum to share their experiences: How are other agencies implementing the citizen’s income? What works well in the intake process, and what works well with digitalization? The “Quality Work in SGB II” workshop held in Berlin in September 2023 facilitated precisely this kind of exchange.
Our film extends the impact of the day. The participants themselves share what they’ve taken away: inspiration, practical examples, and the realization that change can be fun. Anyone who watches the film will understand why they’ll want to be there next time.
The participants' voices are the heart of the film
A promotional video about a professional conference might simply string together images of the stage setups and program items. This video takes a different approach: It lets the participants tell their own stories. What they hoped to get out of the day. What they took away from the sessions. And why change can actually be fun—if you have the right mindset.
In this way, the documentation of one day becomes a selling point for the next: The film shows interested viewers what the format can do, and demonstrates to the organizer that it works.
"I came here alone and met so many people who are all driven by the same things as we are."
Seen in the film
Participants explain why they came: to gain new inspiration, strength, and courage for upcoming changes. The annual theme, “Well-Positioned for Change,” provides the framework for the day, with a focus on discussions among job centers: strategies, concepts, and practical examples ranging from digitization to the intake area. One participant is attending for the third time; another came alone and is heading home with many new contacts.
