Corporate film for PYUR A new brand needs a manifesto.

The brand film for the rebranding of Tele Columbus into PYUR: a manifesto for the inside and the outside. The budget went where it carries the brand: into image selection, the edit and music composed for this film.

A brand manifesto, not a product film.

Acquisitions had grown Tele Columbus into Germany's third largest high-speed internet provider, and in 2017 it became the new brand PYUR. The new brand needed a film that works inward and outward: for employees just as much as for customers.

The film does not tell a product, it explains a stance. Pure speed for some, pure entertainment for others, plus reliability and commitment. At the end the brand promise stands in three words: pure performance, pure simplicity, pure humanity.

The Ÿ of the PYUR brand, composited into a Berlin façade afterwards.

„A brand film does not have to be 100 percent shot. It has to feel 100 percent like the brand.“

How archive footage becomes a film of its own.

Around 80 percent of the film is stock footage, carefully selected and reworked until the images look like they came from one hand. We shot the remaining 20 percent ourselves across two days in Berlin: one day in a loft apartment, one day in a coworking space, which is where the office scenes come from.

Individual shots were built up further. The Ÿ from the new brand mark does not appear by chance, it was composited in afterwards. That is how bought footage takes on the brand's handwriting.

Music holds it all together. It was composed for this film, deliberately without a beat so the voice-over carries. The composer is Philipp Hansmann from Tonklempnerei. For us it is the film's secret backbone.

„The music is the backbone. Without a beat, so the words carry.“

Seen in the corporate film.

The film moves from overwhelming choice to a clear stance: high speed for some, entertainment for others, reliability for everyone. In between: the network, the technology and the people who live from it.
