Employer Branding Video for the vzbv An employer that fights for something. The film shows it.

The vzbv advocates for strong consumer rights and fair markets, with offices in Berlin and Brussels. The employer branding video features five employees explaining why they chose to work here: a sense of purpose, appreciation, and an employer that delivers on its promises.

Purpose is the strongest selling point in recruiting

As an umbrella organization, the Federal Association of Consumer Advice Centers brings together the efforts of 16 consumer advice centers and more than 25 other organizations. Those who work here fight for better laws and fairer markets. This is precisely the message the film focuses on.

Five employees share their perspectives from across the organization: from trainee Jasmine Grzebyta to web developer Esther Borowski and consultant Patrick Langer, all the way to team leader Dr. Thomas Engelke. Plus the tangible benefits: fair, transparent pay comparable to the public sector, remote work options, and a location in the heart of Berlin.

Five Voices Instead of a Brochure

Employer branding for an association has one pitfall: it can quickly sound like mission-statement prose. The film avoids this by simply letting the employees speak for themselves—in concrete and personal terms—even sharing an anecdote about a friend who had to go on short-time work, while the vzbv had long since made remote work possible.

It was filmed over two days in November 2021, along with the association’s promotional videos: a single shoot that yielded several videos for the vzbv for various purposes, in German and English, plus short versions for social media.

This creates the image of an employer that lives by what it champions externally. For job seekers, that’s the difference between a job posting and a reason to apply.

“When I work here for the vzbv and actually help bring about better laws, it makes me feel great because I know I’ve helped a lot of people.”

Seen in the film

The vzbv introduces itself: As the umbrella organization for 16 consumer advice centers, it makes people’s daily lives easier, safer, and more affordable. Then five employees take the floor: They talk about the search for meaningful work, about lawsuits that step in where lawmakers fail to act, about recognition, fair pay, and remote work. The video concludes with an invitation: Apply and become part of our team.
