Recruiting Video for GLX Global Logistic Services 400 applications in three months. From 30 seconds of cinema.

A warehouse worker dreams of racing: a forklift instead of a sports car, an aisle of shelves instead of the Sunset Strip, a red cloth as the starting signal. Then a coworker wakes him up. GLX launched a campaign with this concept in March, which generated 400 applications in three months.

When everyone promises the same thing, the movie you share is the one that wins

GLX Global Logistic is a logistics service provider with eight locations in Germany and approximately 250 employees. The company is constantly looking for warehouse staff, including through social media. There, the team realized that photo posts were no longer effective: videos convey emotion, while photos do not.

What was missing was capacity and an idea. The answer was to borrow from another genre: 30 seconds of high-octane racing action in our own high-bay warehouse. An employee imagines himself in a forklift duel; the audience recognizes the visual language from blockbusters; and the punchline comes when he wakes up. The film’s tagline says it all, with a wink: Maybe not quite as exciting, but a close-knit team.

“We had the problem that we didn’t have the internal capacity to shoot this film professionally, and we were a bit short on creative ideas. ROCC Film showed a very, very good understanding of exactly what we wanted. Over the course of three months, we received 400 applications and made ten hires from them.”

A concept that the boss recognized right away

It all started with a creative workshop at GLX: the executive team, site management, and staff all gathered around one table. Afterward, concept developer Danny Wünsch came up with four concepts. GLX chose number four, and the subject line of the email was as short as it was clear: Concept 4, The Fast and the Furious.

The shoot took place over a single day while the plant was in operation, with safety briefings and six employees in front of the camera. No actors, no extras—just people who know their machines like the back of their hands. That’s exactly why the driving scenes work: it’s real skill, just edited differently.

The campaign was launched across all locations in March. Lara-Léan Schröfl herself cites the results: 400 applications in three months, ten hires. On top of that came two pieces of proof that money can’t buy: GLX included the video in the company’s email signature, and Jungheinrich, the manufacturer of the forklifts used in the video, shared it on LinkedIn.

"The film has been met with great enthusiasm internally, and we are very pleased with the final result."

Seen in the film

A driver puts on his cap, his hands grip the controls, a red flag drops: The race is on. Two forklifts race through the aisles between the shelves, with cardboard boxes piled up as obstacles; the camera stays close to the ground, just like in a racing movie. The driver wins, cheers, and is woken up by his colleague. In the end, the team gathers together and raises a toast—not to the victory, but to what the job is really all about.
