About the Film
Moving pictures about moving pictures.
His father wanted him to become a professional GO player. He didn't want to leave his home in the mountains to go to Tokyo on his own. Today he lives in Berlin and creates art with an important cause.
We had the honor of portraying the Japanese artist Ryo Kato, an exciting journey from canvas to canvas for us too.
Ryo Kato has lived in Berlin since 1998 and paints pictures the way an orchestra plays a symphony. He told us how he found and developed his own style over the years.
In our almost half-hour documentary, Ryo takes us on a journey from the Japanese mountains to his studio in Brandenburg. He talks to us about freedom, raising children and the destruction of our planet.
But before we give too much away, let the pictures speak for themselves.
