Brief overview

What is a recruiting film?

A recruiting film is a short corporate film that presents a role, a team, or you as an employer in a way that gets the right people applying.

Instead of stock footage and clichés, real employees stand in front of the camera and tell you what everyday work really looks like at your company. Common formats range from a job portrait for a single position, to an employer film with multiple protagonists, to a recruiting campaign for different roles and locations. The film is shown wherever your applicants are looking: on the careers page, in job boards, and on LinkedIn, Instagram or TikTok.

This scope also determines the cost — how many stories you tell, how many shoot days and locations are needed, and how many formats you deliver in. ROCC Film produces recruiting films from Berlin and shoots nationwide.

  1. 01Step

    Consulting and concept (~10%)

What influences the price of a recruitment film

The biggest variable isn't the equipment – it's how many stories you want to tell.

One job profile or the whole company?

A job portrait – one employee, one workplace, one story – needs one shooting day. An employer-branding film with three to five people from different departments needs two to three. A recruiting campaign with separate films per job profile needs three to five. More people, more locations, more shooting days – that's the biggest price driver.

Real employees or actors?

For recruitment films we almost always work with real employees. That saves casting costs – and creates the authenticity that convinces applicants. Our founder Christian has experience as an actor and director. He knows how to put inexperienced performers at ease on camera. That makes the difference.

How many versions do you need?

The film for the careers page is usually just the start. Portrait-format cuts for LinkedIn or Instagram, subtitles for silent playback, a short loop for the job fair – every additional version means additional editing and another round of approval. So tell us your distribution channels before the shoot: whatever's planned from the start comes straight out of the existing footage – instead of having to be reshot later.

Start with an employer film (€10,000–18,000) that shows your company as a whole. Individual job portraits and social cuts can be derived from it later – without a complete reshoot.

Return on Investment

Recruitment film vs. a classic job ad

A single job ad on StepStone costs around €1,500 for a 30 day run. If you advertise all year, you pay that several times over. A recruitment film works for 3 to 5 years instead: on your career page, on LinkedIn, on Instagram, at trade fairs, in presentations. Spread across its lifetime, your cost per hire drops with every role you fill with it.
