Brief overview

What is video production for events?

Video production for events is the filmic accompaniment of an event – from preparation, through on-site filming, to the finished edit. A camera team captures the stage program, conversations and atmosphere; in post-production, this becomes a recap or aftermovie, short clips for social media, and recordings of individual talks on request. Unlike a plain recording, it follows a narrative arc and shows what your event was really about. ROCC Film produces event videos like this from Berlin – for trade fairs, conferences, company celebrations and internal formats.

Frequently Asked Questions

Video Production for Events — Frequently Asked Questions

In three steps: preparation, filming on event day, and post-production. Beforehand, we go through the schedule, location, and the moments that absolutely can't be missed with you, and define which videos you'll need in the end. On event day, the camera team works unobtrusively in the background, and afterward your final versions are created in the edit.

Usually a combination of a recap or aftermovie, short vertical clips for social media, and soundbites from interviews. On request, we also add recordings of individual talks or panels for internal communication, plus a teaser to promote the next edition of your event. Which versions make sense depends on where the videos will run.

That depends on size, program and location. A compact company event can often be covered with a small team and one mobile camera, while conferences with a stage, panels and parallel sessions need multiple camera positions. If a livestream is added, we also plan for direction and sound engineering. We define the setup in a preliminary discussion based on your schedule.

Yes. We don't just record your event — on request, we also stream it live, so guests who can't be on-site can join too. Recording and livestream can be combined, so an event film is produced from the same shoot afterward.

We agree on the delivery date together before the event, so it fits your communications. Short social clips are ready faster than a longer recap with interviews, music and graphics. If something needs to go online during or right after the event, we plan the edit accordingly.

Inform your guests in advance that filming will take place, and ideally collect consent already at registration. The legal basis is the GDPR and the right to one's own image under German copyright law (KUG). It's common to include a note in the invitation and signs at the entrance. If individual people don't want to be on camera, we take that into account during filming and editing.

The scope mainly depends on the length of the event, the size of the team, technical needs like a livestream or multiple camera positions, and the number of edits required. A half-day event shoot is therefore something completely different from a multi-day conference with a livestream. Our cost calculator for video productions gives you an initial sense of it, and it gets concrete in the initial consultation.
